Understanding Neurodivergence and Modern Healthcare
The healthcare landscape is vast, yet often, the experiences of neurodivergent adults remain unrepresented. Recognizing this crucial gap, Hopper Health facilitated an expansive survey to gain firsthand insights from over 1,100 neurodivergent individuals. Our aim? To shed light on their real-world experiences with healthcare providers, institutions, and systems — to paint a holistic picture beyond the scope of patient-provider dynamics. This report is not just an informative endeavor, but a testament to our commitment to advancing understanding and practices tailored to the unique needs of neurodivergent adults.

A Glimpse Into Our Findings
Most neurodivergent adults see their primary care providers at least once a year, painting a seemingly reassuring picture. However, delve deeper, and a more complex narrative emerges: over 50% have, at some point, avoided or postponed care predominantly due to cost — a figure that surpasses the national average of 38%. Beyond this, our findings also spotlight pronounced disparities in satisfaction between male and female respondents. We further explore the benefits of mental health diagnoses in context of the significant barriers in obtaining them. Whether you're an insurance payer, a healthcare provider, or someone keen to better understand the experiences of neurodivergent adults, this report offers actionable insights to guide and enhance healthcare approaches.
